Fall 2010 “Point-n-Shoot” Magazine Photo Contest

No matter what type of photographer you are, your honored Point Magazine staff invites you to participate in our very first, bi-annual photo contest! The photographs chosen should reflect our magazine’s theme. Winners will be displayed on the front page of our website and printed inside our FALL 2010 issue. We can’t wait to see your work!
Photo Eligibility
To enter, you must be a Biola student (part- or full-time). All photos must have been taken within your time at Biola, whether that was four years ago, four months ago, or four hours ago. The photo subject must somehow reflect the theme:
“Times of Day.”
For example: Early morning, Afternoon, Golden Hour, Late night, or anything in-between.
Number of Entries
An individual may submit up to three photos. Preferably, these will reflect varying times of the day (i.e. not ONLY night-time photographs.
How to Enter
Submission deadline is November 20th. Digital photos may be submitted via e-mail to: [email protected]. Please indicate the number of photos you submitted, your name, ID Number, and a phone number by which we can reach you.
Ownership/Use Rights
Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree to potentially have their photograph appear on the Point Mag website and/or in The Point Magazine Publication. We reserve the right to re-edit colors and levels if necessary to appear at the best quality for printing.
Photographer/Copyright
Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Do not submit a photo taken by someone other than yourself. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the photo and entry form is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo.
Image Modifications:
Minor digital enhancement is permitted, but images that have been significantly modified or appear unnatural will be disqualified. Not Permitted:
• No borders or frames may be added to images.
• No watermarks, signatures, or copyright notices may be added to images.
• All winning images will be displayed with the photographer’s name.
• Adding or replacing elements in an image is not permitted.
• Artistic filters are not permitted.
Submitting Digital Images
Digital images should be submitted via e-mail at [email protected]. Images should be formatted to 72 dpi and no smaller than 450 by 338 pixels. Images should be submitted in JPG (at high quality) or TIFF format. File sizes must be less than 500K per image.
